Getting Started with Brandy

Updated on

1. Create Your Brand Space:
The first thing you do is set up a “brand space” for your brand or client. Think of this as your dedicated online headquarters for everything related to that specific brand. If you manage multiple brands (like an agency would), you can create separate spaces for each, keeping everything distinct.

2. Upload Your Assets:
Once your space is ready, you start uploading all your brand essentials. This includes things like:

  • Logos: All your logo variations, in different file types and orientations.
  • Colors: Your brand’s exact color palettes, often listed with HEX, RGB, and other codes.
  • Fonts: The specific typefaces your brand uses.
  • Imagery & Icons: Approved photos, illustrations, and icon sets.
  • Brand Guidelines: Any documents or rich text detailing how your brand should be used, including voice and tone guidelines.

Brandy supports over 30 different file types, so you can upload everything from images and illustrations to text files and spreadsheets. Workflow Management & Collaboration

3. Organize and Customize:
This is where Brandy really shines. Instead of just dumping files into folders, you can organize them visually.

  • Collections and Tagging: You can group assets into intuitive collections based on campaigns, categories, or projects, and add custom tags for easy searching.
  • Layouts: Brandy often uses a “bento-style” layout, making your assets visually appealing and easy to browse.
  • Customization: You can customize the look of your brand space with custom cover pages and even use your own domain (CNAME support) for a fully branded experience.

4. Create Brand Guidelines:
Brandy isn’t just a file storage system. it’s a tool for building comprehensive brand guidelines. You can add rich text, tables, and quotes using markdown support directly within your brand space, making it a living document that explains how to use your assets correctly.
